The programme began with a pledge led by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, in the presence of senior officials including Anurag Gupta and Kumar Vikram, alongside employees and township residents, underscoring responsible water usage.

A plantation drive within the township followed, aimed at promoting ecological balance and sustainability. As part of its outreach efforts, NTPC Bongaigaon also conducted a drawing competition at a local government school to raise awareness among students, along with an employee quiz on water conservation themes.

Additionally, a poster-making competition engaged employees’ families, fostering wider participation in sustainability initiatives. The company highlighted the importance of collective action and sustainable practices at both organisational and individual levels.

The initiative aligns with NTPC’s broader focus on environmental stewardship and community-driven sustainability efforts as part of its long-term nation-building strategy.
