POWERGRID Leads Cleanliness Campaign During Swachhata Pakhwada

Gurugram, 01 June 2026: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) is observing Swachhata Pakhwada across its offices nationwide as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting cleanliness, sustainability and a healthier environment.

The Maharatna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power organised the campaign to reinforce the importance of cleanliness at workplaces and surrounding communities, aligning with the broader vision of a cleaner and greener India.

As part of the initiative, employees across POWERGRID locations took the Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining cleanliness in offices, neighbourhoods and daily life. Cleanliness drives were also conducted in and around office premises to improve hygiene and environmental conditions.

At POWERGRID’s Corporate Centre in Gurugram, the cleanliness drive was carried out in the presence of Chairman and Managing Director Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra, Director (Finance) G. Ravisankar, Director (Personnel) Dr Yatindra Dwivedi, Director (Operations) Naveen Srivastava and other senior officials.

To further spread awareness, POWERGRID organised a Nukkad Natak aimed at encouraging public participation and highlighting the importance of cleanliness and responsible civic behaviour.

POWERGRID said the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign reflects the organisation’s continued focus on environmental responsibility and social awareness alongside its core power transmission operations.

As of May 30, 2026, POWERGRID operates 291 substations, over 185,102 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 628,516 MVA of transformation capacity. Leveraging advanced technologies, automation and digital systems, the company has maintained an average transmission system availability of more than 99.78%.
