Over a period of one year, the Mobile Science Lab is expected to cover 60 schools and benefit nearly 30,000 students through interactive demonstrations, scientific experiments and curriculum-linked learning activities.

The lab is equipped with scientific models, experiment kits and educational tools, designed to make science education more engaging, accessible and application-oriented.

Officials said the initiative aims to encourage curiosity, critical thinking and innovation among students by providing hands-on exposure to scientific concepts.

Speaking at the event, Suprava Roy appreciated NTPC Bongaigaon’s initiative and emphasised the importance of experiential learning in developing scientific thinking and problem-solving abilities among young learners.

Representatives of Seva Bharati Purvanchal outlined the project’s operational framework, stating that the Mobile Science Lab would allow students from rural and semi-urban schools to actively participate in scientific experiments, enriching conventional classroom learning.

Dignitaries interacting with students expressed confidence that the initiative would nurture scientific curiosity and inspire future interest in science, technology and innovation.

Education continues to remain a core focus area of NTPC Bongaigaon’s CSR strategy, with projects such as the Mobile Science Lab aimed at creating meaningful learning opportunities and supporting long-term skill and knowledge development.
