CCIC Launches Designer Collection Honouring Indian Artisans

New Delhi, April 28: Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India (CCIC), under the Ministry of Textiles, has launched its inaugural heritage designer collection titled “Soul Threads”, marking a key milestone in its revival efforts.

The exhibition, being held from April 24 to May 10, 2026, at CCIC’s flagship showroom in Jawahar Vyapar Bhawan, showcases a curated range of artisanal products including sarees, designer apparel, handcrafted jewellery, and home furnishings.

The event was inaugurated by Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary (Textiles), in the presence of senior officials and dignitaries from across government and industry. The opening evening featured a fashion show highlighting the heritage designer collection, blending traditional Indian textiles with contemporary design sensibilities.

“Soul Threads” brings together leading designers, artisans, and cultural performers, offering a platform to promote India’s rich textile legacy. The exhibition also included cultural performances by folk artists, reflecting the diversity of India’s heritage.

The initiative underscores CCIC’s renewed focus on revitalising traditional crafts, supporting artisans, and positioning Indian handlooms and handicrafts in modern markets while preserving their cultural authenticity.
