PM Modi on e-Jagriti platform

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the success of the e-Jagriti platform, describing it as a major step towards digital consumer justice. The AI-powered, paperless platform has digitised the entire consumer complaint process, enabling faster case resolution and allowing consumers, including NRIs, to access justice from anywhere.

Key Highlights

  • PM Modi praised the AI-powered e-Jagriti platform for transforming consumer justice.
  • Over 2.29 lakh consumer complaints have been filed since January 2025.
  • More than 2.07 lakh cases disposed with an overall disposal rate of 90.75%.
  • Platform enables paperless, online consumer dispute resolution, including for NRIs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted the transformative impact of the e-Jagriti platform, stating that it has digitised the complete lifecycle of consumer complaints and strengthened India’s digital consumer justice ecosystem. Sharing an article by Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on social media, the Prime Minister said the platform is a significant step towards structural digital reforms in consumer protection.

According to the Prime Minister, e-Jagriti was developed after extensive stakeholder consultations and addresses the growing need for a modern, technology-driven consumer dispute resolution system. As digital transactions through e-commerce platforms, online marketplaces and digital payment systems continue to grow, the government has focused on making consumer justice faster, simpler and more accessible.

Launched on January 1, 2025, the AI-enabled, paperless platform integrates four legacy systems—OCMS, e-Daakhil, NCDRC CMS and CONFONET—into a single digital platform. The unified system enables consumers to file complaints, monitor case progress and access dispute resolution services online from anywhere in India and abroad.

Since its launch, more than 2.29 lakh consumer complaints have been registered through e-Jagriti, while over 2.07 lakh cases have been successfully disposed of, resulting in an impressive 90.75 per cent disposal rate. The platform has also made it easier for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to seek consumer justice without travelling back to India.

The government’s consumer justice reforms have continued to show positive results during FY 2025-26, with consumer commissions registering over 1.65 lakh new cases and disposing of more than 1.52 lakh cases, improving the annual disposal rate to 92.3 per cent. During the January-March 2026 quarter alone, consumer commissions disposed of 34,600 cases, maintaining a disposal rate of 88.84 per cent.

The success of e-Jagriti reflects the government’s broader vision of leveraging artificial intelligence, paperless governance and digital public infrastructure to deliver transparent, efficient and citizen-centric public services while strengthening consumer confidence in India’s rapidly expanding digital economy.

Conclusion

The e-Jagriti platform represents a major milestone in India’s digital governance journey by making consumer justice faster, transparent and accessible while significantly improving case disposal across the country.
