New Delhi, Feb 12: NTPC ER-II signed an agreement with the Young Mizo Association (YMA) recently wherein NTPC has agreed to provide support to the YMA under CSR for rural infrastructure at Chatlang, Mizoram.
On behalf of NTPC, Sh. Arunashis Das, GM (Projects),NTPC Bongaigaon along with Sh. Shashi Shekhar, AGM (HR),NTPC Bongaigaon and Shri Sh. Lalhruatluanga, President on behalf of YMA signed the agreement .
Under the agreement, NTPC will be providing financial support of Rs.29.55 lakhs to Young Mizo Association (YMA) for construction work of vertical extension of the Chaltlang Branch YMA Hall at Chaltlang, Mizoram.The YMA Hall through its various branches across NE states of Mizoram, Assam, Tripura and Manipur actively engages with the community as well as the Govt and its agencies to preserve the cultural heritage and traditions of the mizo tribes; to instill in the minds of young and old alike the values of selfless service and the importance of social unity and cooperation. The YMA at Chaltlang is one of the oldest and largest branches of the association, with the Hall being one of the main public spaces for a neighbourhood which caters to 10,000 people.
