NTPC Bongaigaon Conducts Employee Awareness Drive on New Labour Laws

New Delhi, March 19: NTPC Bongaigaon organised an awareness session on new labour laws for Engineers-in-Charge (EICs), contract workers, and departmental heads to enhance understanding of recent statutory reforms and strengthen workplace compliance.

The session was conducted by Nirmal Chandra Kar, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour and Employment, who outlined key provisions of the new labour codes and their implications for employers, contractors, and workers. Discussions focused on statutory compliance, safety standards, welfare measures, and the role of stakeholders in ensuring a transparent and compliant work environment.

Head of Project Arnab Maitra emphasised the importance of adherence to statutory norms and awareness in ensuring effective implementation, highlighting the role of supervisors and officers in maintaining compliance at all levels.

General Manager (O&M) Anurag Gupta underlined the operational significance of labour law compliance in sustaining safety, productivity, and efficient functioning in large industrial setups.

Earlier, Head of HR Amit Kumar Asthana provided an overview of the organisation’s commitment to labour welfare and inclusive workplace practices. The session saw active participation from employees and contract workers, with discussions centred on practical implementation of the new labour codes.

The initiative reflects NTPC Bongaigaon’s continued focus on capacity building, regulatory compliance, and fostering a safe and inclusive work environment.
