Tehran, July 20: The Indian Embassy in Iran has issued a revised travel advisory asking Indian nationals to postpone all travel to Iran as the country’s security environment continues to deteriorate amid rising regional tensions.
The Embassy has also advised Indians currently in Iran to consider temporarily leaving the country using available commercial flight options. Those who remain have been urged to exercise the highest level of caution, closely monitor official updates, and comply with instructions issued by local authorities.
Indian citizens have been specifically advised to avoid areas witnessing increased military activity, particularly along Iran’s southern coast, where security risks have intensified in recent days. The Embassy also urged all Indians who have not yet registered with the mission to do so immediately.
The latest advisory comes as Iran and the United States continue to exchange military actions across the Middle East. Iran has accused Washington of violating commitments under a peace Memorandum of Understanding, leading Tehran to suspend its obligations under the agreement.
Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed another round of strikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure, including coastal surveillance systems, air defence facilities, maritime assets, and missile and drone storage sites. The US also stated that it targeted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) following recent attacks on American personnel in Jordan.
