NLC’s Income rose by 13.50 pc; Profit soared by 35 pc

New Delhi- NLC Ltd, power generation PSU, reported excellent financial results in during 2019-20 as well as last quarter of financial year.

In a communication to the stock exchange, the south India based PSU, total income of the Company during year ended 2019-20 spurted toRs 9133.28 crore as against Rs 8059.27, registering a growth of more than 13 percent. Income during the last quarter (Jan-March) also increased to Rs 2574.65 crore as against Rs 2266.80 crore.

Profit after tax for the quarter and year ended 31-03-2020 was Rs.392.48 crore and Rs.1413.85 crore respectively as against Rs.290.13 crore and Rs.1266.97 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 35.28% and 11.59%  respectively in both the periods.

Power generation during the quarter and year ended 31-03-2020 was 6098.95 MU and 21922.98 MU as against 5586.17 MU and 20676.18 MU in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 9.18% and 6.03 % respectively in both the periods.

Power export during the quarter and year ended 31-03-2020 was        5301 MU and 18840.84 MU respectively as against 4766.54 and 17505.30 MU in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 11.21% and 7.63% respectively in both the periods.

After commissioning of 709 MW of Solar Power Plant, solar power generation during the quarter and year ended 31-03-2020 to 486.56 MU and 1401.42 MU as against 155.63 MU and 471.14 MU respectively in both the periods.

The EBIDTA for the quarter ended 31-03-2020 was Rs.1231.49 crore as against Rs.1071.30 crore, registering a growth of 14.95%. The EBIDTA for the year ended 31-03-2020 was Rs.3986.80 crore as against Rs.3306.89 crore, registering a growth of 20.56%.

For the Consolidated financial statement, the total income of the Group during the quarter and year ended 31-03-2020 was Rs.3405.14 crore and Rs.11592.70 crore respectively as against Rs.2888.71 crore and Rs.10778.47 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth in total income of 17.88% and 7.55% respectively in both the period.
