NHPC pays interim dividend of Rs. 840.96 cr to GOI


Faridabad, Mar 04 NHPC, a premier hydro power Company and a ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Enterprise of the Government of India has paid an interim dividend of Rs. 840.96 crore to Government of India for the financial year 2019-20 on March 3rd, 2020.

The dividend payout bank advice was presented to R.K. Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) (Power and New & Renewable Energy) & Minister of State (Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) by A.K. Singh, CMD, NHPC on March 4th 2020 in the presence of Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, Secretary (Power) Government of India, Aniruddha Kumar, Joint Secretary (Hdro), Ministry of Power and N.K. Jain, Director (Personnel), Mahesh Kumar Mittal, Director (Finance), Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical) from NHPC. NHPC had paid interim dividend of Rs. 526.53 crore to Government of India for the fiscal 2018-19.

Board of Directors of the Company in its meeting held on 7th February 2020 had declared an interim dividend for financial year 2019-20 at the rate of Rs. 1.18 per Equity share i.e. 11.80% of the face value in comparison to Interim Dividend of Rs.0.71 per equity share i.e. 7.10% for the fiscal 2018-19.

NHPC, today has seven lakh shareholders (approx.) and total interim pay-out for the financial year 2019-20 worked out to Rs 1185.31 crore as against Rs. 713.20 crore for the financial year 2018-19.

NHPC has earned net profit of Rs. 2624.26 crore for the nine months ended FY 19-20 as against the previous period corresponding figure of Rs. 2138.26 crore.
