New Delhi, March 22: At the Bharat Energy Summit (BES) 2026 in New Delhi, the India–Africa Strategic Partnership Meet convened ministers, ambassadors, senior officials, and global energy leaders to strengthen bilateral and multilateral collaboration in the power sector.
The session opened with a welcome address by Jitendra Srivastava, Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited, followed by strategic insights from leadership at NTPC Limited and Africa50.
Key policy perspectives were delivered by senior Indian leadership, including the Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, the Chief Minister of Haryana, and the Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, underlining India’s commitment to strengthening energy partnerships with Africa.
The meet witnessed high-level participation from African ministers representing Mauritius and Malawi, alongside ambassadors, high commissioners, and senior bureaucrats. Global institutions such as the World Bank Group, Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited, and Africa Infrastructure Development Association contributed to discussions on infrastructure development and financing.
A comprehensive overview of India’s power sector was presented by the Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority, followed by an interactive session exploring collaboration opportunities between African nations and representatives from the Government of India and the Government of Haryana.
Supported by Ernst & Young as knowledge partner and moderator, the platform enabled country representatives to outline national priorities, ongoing reforms, and areas for strategic collaboration with India. Discussions focused on renewable energy expansion, transmission infrastructure, joint ventures, and investment partnerships, alongside capacity building and institutional strengthening.
The meet underscored a shared commitment to fostering sustainable, reliable, and scalable power sector growth across both regions, positioning India as a key partner in advancing global energy security and infrastructure development.

नई दिल्ली, 21 मार्च, 2026 – भारत एनर्जी समिट (BES) 2026 के तीसरे दिन, इंडिया-अफ्रीका स्ट्रेटेजिक पार्टनरशिप बैठक बुलाई गई, जिसमें पावर सेक्टर में सहयोग को मज़बूत करने के लिए मंत्री, राजदूत, सीनियर अधिकारी और ग्लोबल सेक्टर के लीडर एक साथ आए।
सेशन की शुरुआत आरईसी लिमिटेड के चेयरमैन और मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर श्री जितेंद्र श्रीवास्तव के वेलकम एड्रेस से हुई, जिसके बाद एनटीपीसी के सीएमडी और अफ्रीका 50 के सीईओ ने स्ट्रेटेजिक कॉन्टेक्स्ट सेटिंग की।
मुख्य भाषण इन लोगों ने दिए:
माननीय केंद्रीय बिजली, आवास और शहरी मामलों के मंत्री, भारत सरकार।
माननीय हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री।

हाई-लेवल पार्टिसिपेशन में मॉरिशस और मलावी के अफ्रीकी मिनिस्टर्स के साथ-साथ एम्बेसडर, हाई कमिश्नर और परमानेंट सेक्रेटरी शामिल थे। अफ्रीका 50, वर्ल्ड बैंक ग्रुप, केन्या इलेक्ट्रिसिटी ट्रांसमिशन कंपनी लिमिटेड (KETRACO), और अफ्रीका इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर डेवलपमेंट एसोसिएशन (AfiDA) जैसी इंटरनेशनल एजेंसियों और ऑर्गनाइज़ेशन के जाने-माने लोगों ने बातचीत में हिस्सा लिया।
सीईए के चेयरपर्सन ने इंडियन पावर सेक्टर पर एक ब्रीफ जानकारी दी, जिसके बाद अफ्रीकी देशों और केंद्र सरकार और हरियाणा सरकार के प्रतिनिधियों के बीच एक बातचीत और चर्चा का सेशन हुआ, जिसमें पावर सेक्टर में सहयोग के मौकों पर फोकस किया गया। कई अफ्रीकी देशों की छोटी बातों में सहयोग और आपसी विकास के तरीकों पर रोशनी डाली गई।
इस सेशन को अर्न्स्ट एंड यंग (EY) ने नॉलेज पार्टनर और मॉडरेटर के तौर पर सपोर्ट किया। इसने देशों के रिप्रेजेंटेटिव को अपनी नेशनल प्रायोरिटी, चल रही पहल और खास ज़रूरतों को शेयर करने के लिए एक कीमती प्लेटफॉर्म दिया, जहाँ भारत के साथ कोलेबोरेशन से स्ट्रेटेजिक वैल्यू मिल सकती है। इससे दोनों क्षेत्रों में पावर सेक्टर की सस्टेनेबल और भरोसेमंद ग्रोथ को आगे बढ़ाने के मकसद से आपसी फायदे वाली पार्टनरशिप की एक जैसी समझ डेवलप हुई। चर्चाओं में कैपेसिटी बिल्डिंग और इंस्टीट्यूशनल मजबूती पर भी ज़ोर दिया गया, जॉइंट वेंचर और इन्वेस्टमेंट पार्टनरशिप के ज़रिए अफ्रीका में मौकों को खोजा गया, और भारतीय राज्यों के रिप्रेजेंटेटिव और अफ्रीकी नेताओं के बीच काम की बातचीत को आसान बनाया गया।
यह मीटिंग दोनों इलाकों में पावर सेक्टर की सस्टेनेबल और भरोसेमंद ग्रोथ बनाने की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम है, जो एनर्जी सिक्योरिटी और इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर डेवलपमेंट के लिए इंटरनेशनल पार्टनरशिप को आगे बढ़ाने में भारत की लीडरशिप को और मज़बूत करेगी।
