Enhanced Compensation to Project Affected Persons- NLCIL disburses through Lok Adalat

The Chief District Judge, Shri. Pa.U. Semmal handing over the cheque towards enhanced compensation to a beneficiary, who gave his land to NLCIL. Also seen are Shri. M. Lakshmi Kantha Rao, Chief General Manager, Senior Officials from Land Department of NLCIL, Officials from Revenue Department of Government of Tamilnadu participated in both the events.

NLC India Limited has disbursed the cheques for a total value of  Rs.8.07 crores as enhanced compensation to 119 Project Affected Persons who had handed over their lands for surrendering their lands to the company’s projects, at the recently held Lok Adalat sessions at Neyveli on 06-01-2021 and  18.12.2020.

With respect to the demand for higher compensation for lands surrendered to NLCIL  after 01.01.2014, an agreement was reached between NLCIL and Project Affected Persons in the presence of Lok Adalat forum. Initially an amount of Rs. 5.00/6.00 lakhs per acre was distributed as compensation and now an enhanced compensation to the tune of Rs.15 lakhs per acre inclusive of already paid compensation was paid to the Project Affected Persons through Lok Adalat.

One such Lok Adalat session was convened on 06.01.2021 in which 63 Project Affected Persons received cheques for a total value of Rs.4.34 crores as enhanced compensation for surrendering their 48.34 acres of land to the company

Earlier, similar Lok Adalat Session was convened on 18.12.2020 in which 56 Project Affected Persons received cheques for a total value of Rs.3.73 crores as enhanced compensation for surrendering their 45.24 acres of land to the company

Both the Lok Adalat sessions were organized by NLCIL at Learning and Development Center, Block-20, Neyveli and the cheques were distributed to the beneficiaries by the Chief District Judge, Shri. Pa.U. Semmal and Neyveli Sub court Judge Hon’ble   Shri. M. Sadiq Basha.

Shri. M. Lakshmi Kantha Rao, Chief General Manager, Shri. S. Vivekanandan, Deputy General Manager from Land Department of NLCIL, Officials from Revenue Department of Government of Tamilnadu participated in both the events.
