Ahmedabad, Feb 24: Adani Power Limited on Tuesday announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Limited (MPGL), has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) for the supply of 558 MW (net) of power over a five-year term.
The contract is expected to enhance power reliability in Tamil Nadu by augmenting supply, strengthening grid stability and supporting uninterrupted electricity delivery to households, commercial establishments and industrial consumers.
MPGL operates a 1,200 MW (2×600 MW) thermal power facility in Thoothukudi. The company emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender process, quoting a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit. Power supply under the agreement is scheduled to commence from April 1, 2026.
With this award, both generating units of the plant are now secured under power supply agreements.
The company indicated that more than 95 per cent of its operational capacity is currently tied up under medium- to long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), providing strong revenue visibility and reducing exposure to short-term merchant market volatility. It aims to achieve near-full PPA coverage for all operational and under-construction assets in the coming years.
