New Delhi, April 19: The Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Waddepalley Ramchander, conducted an official visit to Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) in Nagpur on April 18, 2026, to review the implementation of welfare measures and reservation policies for Scheduled Caste employees.
During the visit, detailed discussions were held on employee welfare schemes, constitutional safeguards, and the protection of rights of SC employees working in the organisation. The Commission also assessed the effectiveness of existing support systems and compliance with statutory provisions.
WCL’s Director (Technical – Projects & Planning) Sandeep Paranjpe briefed the delegation on the company’s operational activities and ongoing initiatives. The meeting was also attended by Commission Director G. Sunil Kumar Babu, who emphasised the need for strict adherence to constitutional provisions governing reservation and inclusion.
Senior officials including General Manager (HR/Industrial Relations) Lalit Prakash Tirkey and Liaison Officer (SC/ST) Atul Bansod were present and assured full compliance with social justice norms and inclusive development objectives.
The management reaffirmed WCL’s commitment to ensuring equitable opportunities and strengthening workplace welfare frameworks for Scheduled Caste employees.
At the conclusion of the review, the Commission appreciated the ongoing initiatives and issued further guidelines to enhance implementation effectiveness. The meeting was also attended by senior officials including finance, medical, and civil welfare representatives, underscoring a comprehensive institutional review of employee welfare mechanisms.
