UPI Expansion in Sri Lanka to Improve Tourist Payments, Says NPCI

New Delhi, Feb 06: UPI is now operational in over eight countries, including the UAE, Singapore, and France, which reinforces India’s leadership in digital payments.

The Indian government has signed MoUs with 23 nations for sharing digital public infrastructure (DPI) frameworks, focusing on digital identity, payments, and service delivery.

Significant initiatives include the Global DPI Repository launched during India’s G20 Presidency, highlighting key solutions like Aadhaar and CoWIN. The UPI saw a 28% year-on-year growth in transaction count in January, amounting to 21.70 billion transactions.
