The Unit-I (2×250 MW) of Neyveli Thermal Power Station-II Expansion has successfully completed its continuous operation for 72 hours starting from 30-06-2015 to 03-07-2015 and qualified for Commercial Operation (COD). By this, the power generating capacity of the company is raised from 3490 MW to 3740 MW.
NLC is setting up a 2×250 MW Thermal Power Station at Neyveli as its Thermal Power Station-II Expansion. Earlier, the Unit-II of this Thermal Power Station has attained Commercial Operation Declaration (COD) on 21-04-2015. Today, the Unit-I is put into Commercial Operation.
Recently, the Unit-I (500MW) of NTPL Thermal Power Station, implemented through a Joint Venture Company, NLC Tamil Nadu Power Limited (NTPL) incorporated by NLC (89%) and TANGEDCO (11%) attained COD on 06-06-2015.
The pre-commissioning activities in Unit-II of NTPL TPS are nearing completion and this Unit will also be ready for commercial operation during this month. Hence, the company will raise its power generation capacity to 4240 MW.
Till the end of last financial year (2014-15) the company’s power generation capacity was 2740 MW. Within a four month period the company is able to increase its power generation capacity to two folds.
