The  22nd Neyveli Book Fair Concludes on a High Note

Neyveli, July 15 The curtains came down on yet another edition of the Neyveli Book Fair at Neyveli on 14th July, 2019, the Valedictory function of which was held at the Lignite Hall, Book Fair grounds.

NLC India Limited, Neyveli has been conducting Book Fairs for the last 22 years for the benefit of the general public in a grand manner and this year, the 22nd Neyveli Book Fair was held from 05th July, 2019 to 14th July, 2019.

The Chief Guest of the Valedictory function, V. AnbuSelvan, IAS, Collector, Cuddalore District, in his address, said that  NLC India Ltd. and its initiatives like the Grand Book Fair were popular not only in the southern parts of India but also in northern parts of India, which he said that he had learnt it  from many of his colleague bureaucrats and officials. Commending NLC India on this event, he said that it was extremely gratifying to get this recognition, which reflected the cultural and Knowledge exchange besides expertise which permeating in all spheres.

Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL, in his presidential address, said that NLC India Ltd’s “Neyveli Book Fair” played a major role in creating new horizons  in the rural  world, especially for the children who would benefit from the knowledge and learning that would shape their lives to a better future. He informed that over 2.25 lakh people including school children visited the Neyveli Book Fair. 57,000 children from more than 400 nearby schools who visited the Book Fair were provided with refreshments by the NLCIL management. He emphasized that this 22nd Neyveli Book Fair reiterated the fact that the Printed works would stay forever and that the reading habit is still alive.

R. Vikraman, Director (HR), N.N.M. Rao, Director (P&P), Shaji John, Director (Power), and other senior officials participated in  the event.

To commemorate the 22nd Neyveli Book Fair, an e-Souvenir was released during the valedictory function by Shri Rakesh Kumar and the first copy was received by Shri N.N.M. Rao, Director ( P&P)& Patron of NBF.

Earlier, the District Collector honored  J Kamalanathan, Coimbatore, All India Radio Director as the best writer and Tigers Books Pvt. Ltd, Chennai as Best Publisher and  released the Book Titled “Ennakuzhathin Vannamalargal ” authored by Shri. Manivasagam.

The function concluded with a Piano Musical Recital by Lydian Nadhaswaram, the 13-year-old musical prodigy pianist from the Music Director AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory, known as the “Mini Maestro”.
