Speaking on the “Jan andolan for Swachhata which is observed from September 15th to October 2nd 2018,  Shri Samir Kumar Das, Chief General Manager, Pipeline Sphere, Oil India Limited said, that we are committed towards the social cause and Oil India Limited, Pipeline Services,  wholeheartedly participated in  Swachhata Hi Seva and Shramdaan activities during this period.” 

The Campaign started with a Swachhta Pledge Taking in Pipeline Headquarters as well as in all the Pump Stations and Terminals of Pipeline Services spread across 3 states, i.e. Assam, West Bengal & Bihar. Cleanliness drives were organised in the OIL Pipeline office premises.

Pipeline Department, Oil India Limited is committed to spread the awareness on Swachhta to all sections of the society. Keeping this perspective in mind, several schools and colleges like Narengi High School, TC Girls School and Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati were visited wherein awareness talks on Sanitation, Cleanliness and Hygiene by eminent personalities were organised. A large number of dustbins, hygiene kits etc.were also distributed in various locations.

Pipeline Department, Oil India Limited has also taken the initiative of organising massive cleanliness drives in various tourist and public places like Basistha Temple, Kamakhya Temple, Satgaon Market wherein apart from cleaning activities, efforts were also made to generate public awareness.  In Assam, the development of the iconic, “Kamakhya Temple has been entrusted to Oil India Limited , the Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise.

In line with the motto of generating public awareness about Swachhata, a cycle rally was organised with a large number of participants. Street Plays promoting themes of proper sanitation and hygiene were organised at different locations which were attended by large gatherings.

To maximise the reach of the Swachhata Campaign, jingles with the theme of Swachhata were played by an FM Radio Station so that maximum number of people understand about the initiative. Almost 200 nos of plant saplings have been distributed in various locations to promote greenery and clean air.

All Pump Stations and Terminals of Pipeline Department have also enthusiastically carried out various Swachhata activities.
