The second edition of ‘Global Energy Technology Summit’ GETS 2015 with the theme”: Clean n Green Energy: The New Normal “: NTPC Global Engineering and Technology Summit ( GETS) was held in New Delhi on Nov. 7-9. The Summit provided an ideal platform for Industry-Academia interface which was thought provoking expression of ideas brimming in the minds of technocrats.
Sessions at the Summit included Clean and Efficient use of coal, Greening of Coal, Carbon free & Carbon Neutral Generation in the areas of Solar PV and Solar thermal Generation, Wind, Bio Mass, Geothermal and Fuel Cell, Hydro & mini Hydro, Waste to Energy, Zero Liquid discharge, Emission Controls and Their abatement, Grid integration of Renewables, Energy Storage Technologies, Powering solutions for Smart cities and smart controls for agile power generation. Student session chaired by eminent technologists, environmentalists, industry leaders and academicians whose thought provoking interjections and analysis articulated the alternatives for mitigation of the threats posed by climate change in future was highly appreciated.
In all 32 National & Multinational companies including BHEL, Toshiba, L&T, ALSTHOM, DOOSAN, THERMAX, TATA SOLAR & STEAG from various domains of the power sector like EPC contractors, SG & TG suppliers, Control & Instrumentation agencies, Solar Power generation companies, Electrical equipment suppliers participated in the GETS EXPO. NTPC participated through its R&D setup NETRA, besides CENPEEP, Consultancy Wing and the AICTE approved NTPC school of Business. The companies showcased their latest state of the art technologies, innovations and processes adopted by them through models, posters and 3D walk through.
205 technical papers were received including 45 international papers, 825 delegates participated in the summit out of which 67 were foreign delegates.
