NTPC Bongaigaon Conducts Awareness Programme on New Labour Laws

New Delhi, Dec 20: NTPC Bongaigaon conducted an awareness session on the New Labour Laws, targeting Engineers-in-Charge (EICs), contract workers, and Heads of Departments, with the goal of enhancing understanding of recent statutory reforms and ensuring workplace compliance.

The session featured Parineeta, Assistant Labour Commissioner from Guwahati, who detailed key provisions of the new labour codes and their implications for employers, contractors, and workers.

She stressed the significance of fair labour practices, statutory compliance, safety, and the collective responsibility of stakeholders for a transparent and compliant work environment.

Arnab Maitra, Head of Project at NTPC Bongaigaon, emphasized the organization’s commitment to ethical labour practices and adherence to statutory norms, noting the critical role of awareness and implementation of labour laws in maintaining industrial harmony and safeguarding workers’ rights. He urged officers and supervisors to actively collaborate with contractors and workers to ensure compliance.

Anurag Gupta, General Manager (O&M), reinforced the operational importance of compliance with the new labour laws. The session facilitated active participation from attendees, leading to discussions on practical aspects of implementing the new labour codes.
