NTPC Bongaigaon Celebrates 77th Republic Day with Grandeur, Patriotic Fervour

New Delhi, Jan 27: NTPC Bongaigaon celebrated the 77th Republic Day with pride, featuring the unfurling of the National Flag by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project. The event included a ceremonial parade with contingents from CISF, DGR Security Services, and students from Notre Dame Academy.

Maitra emphasized the importance of Republic Day, praising NTPC Bongaigaon’s operational achievements, including a remarkable energy generation of 3,630.6 million units as of January 23, 2026, and a 97.01 percent declared capacity—the highest among NTPC stations.

Maintaining a 97 percent availability rate, the power station excelled in operational parameters, with Unit-2 enjoying 319 days of uninterrupted operation and Unit-1 reaching 381 days, both units avoiding any Boiler Tube Leakage (BTL) issues.

On sustainability, the station achieved an all-time high in total ash utilization of 123 percent, with December 2025 recording a historic monthly ash utilization of 313.45 percent. Fuel security remained robust with the receipt of 76 coal rakes totaling 2,84,861 MT. Maitra encouraged collective efforts towards new milestones, reiterating commitments to safety, environmental stewardship, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

The ceremony highlighted the presentation of merit awards to 35 employees and recognition of outstanding contributions from various departments and organizations, including the Best CISF Contingent.

Enhanced by vibrant displays from various groups, the event showcased the theme “150 Years of Vande Mataram.” Celebrations also took place at other locations, reflecting NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to unity and national progress, with enthusiastic participation from officials, employees, and local community members.
