NLCIL Won Seven Awards

The Apex India Foundation, a non-profit organization has presented seven awards to different Units of NLCIL on various fields at the Awards Presentation Ceremony held at Goa on 24.09.2019.

Apex India Foundation, a New Delhi based non-profit organization is recognizing the good works done by the Public and Private Sector organizations in various disciplines. This year, the Apex India Foundation has organized a two-day conference on Occupational Safety, Health & Environment Sustainability at Goa on 24th and 25th September 2019 at Vainguinium Beach, Goa.  Concurrent to the Conference, the Foundation has arranged Apex India Excellence Award Presentation Ceremony on 24.09.2019.  Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Defence has presented the Awards.

It is a proud moment for NLCIL as the company has received seven awards during the function, under various categories viz.

  • Neyveli Mine-I has won Occupational Health & Safety Award (Platinum category) for the year-2019 for its  unique contribution in the field of occupational health and safety management.
  • Neyveli Mine-II has won Afforestation Activity Award (Platinum Category) for the year-2019 for its green belt development activities. The Mine also won two Gold Category Awards namely Eco Innovation Award for the year-2019 for its outstanding achievements in eco innovation management and Environment Excellence Award for the year-2019 (in Metal and Mining Sector) for its outstanding achievement in environmental management.
  • In the Corporate Social Responsibility category, the CSR Department of NLCIL has won CSR Excellence Award (Platinum category) for the year 2019 for its water resource augmentation initiatives.
  • The Corporate Environment Cell of NLCIL has won Environment Excellence Award (Platinum Category) for the year-2019 (in Thermal Power Sector) for its outstanding performance in best environment management.
  • In the Human Resource Development discipline, NLCIL’s Learning and Development Centre has won the HR Excellence Award (Gold category) for the year 2019 for Excellence in training management.
  • Neyveli, Thermal Power Station-II has won Occupational Health and Safety Award (Gold Category) for the year-2019 for its outstanding achievement in occupational health & safety management.

All the seven awards were received by the Units Heads and Senior Officers of the Units / Departments concerned from the Hon’ble Union Minister.   Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD,            Shri R. Vikraman, Shri NNM Rao, Shri Prabhakar Chowki, Shri Shaji John, Directors of NLCIL appreciated the Officers and employees of award winning units / departments for their praiseworthy  efforts.
