NLCIL Pays Rich Tributes To Dr. BabasahebAmbedkar On His 131st Birth Anniversary

NLCIL celebrated the 131^st birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim rao Ramji Ambedkar on 14-04-2022 at Neyveli. Shaji John, Director (Power), NLCIL, garlanded Dr. Ambedkar’s bronze statue at Ambedkar Square, Neyveli, in the presence of Jaikumar Srinivasan, Director (Finance), NLCIL and Senior officials of the company. Subsequently, Directors and Senior Officials paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait.

Shaji John, Director (Power), in his address, recalled the services of Dr. BhimRao Ambedkar in the upliftment of the neglected and the marginalized people in the society. He added that, he was also proud that NLCIL too had always stood for the weaker sections of the society, giving them opportunities to realize the dreams of Dr. Ambedkar. He highlighted the highest recorded production performance of NLCIL in power generation and lignite production in the Financial Year 2021-22 and appreciated the support and cooperation rendered by all Trade Unions, Associations and Welfare Associations in this regard. A pledge on “Equality Day” was also administered.

Speaking on the occasion, Jaikumar Srinivasan, Director (Finance) paid glowing tributes to Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the father of Indian Constitution. He said that Dr. Ambedkar was a multi-faceted and multi-dimensional personality, an eminent economist, educationist and social reformer, whose importance in Indian polity is remarkable.

S. Balaji, President, K. Selvakumar, General Secretary, Veera.Balu, Treasurer and M. Manisekaran, Office secretary of the NLC SC/ST Employees’ Federation conducted the proceedings of the function.

Sadish Babu, Executive Director (HR), Senior officials & employees of NLCIL, Members of NLC SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Federation, Representatives of Trade Unions & Welfare Associations and public in large number, participated in the celebrations and paid tributes to Dr. Ambedkar.
