NLCIL CONTINUES ITS CONCERTED CLEANLINESS CAMPAIGN FOR A CLEAN INDIA

NLCIL has always been at the forefront in carrying forward the “Swachh Bharat” campaign launched by the Government of India by undertaking a series of activitiesto carry forward the spirit of “Clean India”. The latest such cleanliness drive was organised in a big way at 18 demarcated divisions of Neyveli Township today, 25.06.2022, as part of the celebration of “AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsav” which culminates on August 15, 2022, India’s 75th Independence Day.
The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched by the Government of India as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in 2019.NLCIL has been part of the efforts to make the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a “Jan Andolan” and take the message of cleanliness to all its stakeholders.
Further, NLCIL has continued the concerted campaign of “Swachh Bharat” as part of the “AzadiKa Amrit Mahotsav” marking India’s 75th year of Independence. As part of this, to create more awareness and invite people’s participation in the Clean India movement, NLCIL organised a mass cleaning programme on 25.06.2022 at Neyveli Township involving residents, school children, employees and the public.
A total of 18 locations within Neyveli Township covering residential areas, schools, Industrial Units, CISF barracks, religious places and public areas were identified and intense cleaning activities were carried out.
Today’s mass cleaning programme was kick-started at Arch Gate, Neyveli Township by Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL. Functional Directors of NLCIL Shaji John, K. Mohan Reddy, Executive Directors N. Sadish Babu and R. Mohan, Senior officials, representatives of Trade Unions, Associations, Welfare Federations, CISF personnel, Employees of NLCIL, Traders, hundreds of school children and the general public participated.
Cleaning activities were carried out at all the eighteen identified locations in which around 7000 persons comprising representatives of Unions and Associations, officials, hundreds of employees, residents of the township, general public, around 400 CISF personnel and more than 3000 school children drawn from NLC Boys and Girls Higher Secondary Schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Matriculation and CBSE schools, St. Josephs of Cluny Higher Secondary School, St. Pauls Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sri Aurobindo School, Tagore Matriculation School, St. Antony School, Seventh Day Adventist School, NMJ Higher Secondary School actively participated.
The programme is expected to galvanise all stakeholders of NLCIL to carry forward the idea of a “Clean India” and integrate the same with the spirit of “Azadika Amrit Mahotsav” marking the 75th year of Independence.
