NLC India Limited Celebrates the 70th Birth Day of Prime Minister

NLC India Limited celebrated the 70th Birth Day of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji,  by organizing  Blood Donation Camp, Mass Tree Plantation, and COVID-19 Screening Campaign in Neyveli

Shri R.Vikraman, Director/Human Resources, NLCIL while inaugurating a Blood Donation Camp at Jawahar Science College, Neyveli on today (17-09-2020) said that, in spite of COVID-19 pandemic, the CSR Cell of NLCIL has organized  Blood Donation Camp in Neyveli . The collected blood was donated to Government Head Quarters Hospital, Cuddalore which will be used to save several lives in the District, he added.

Blood Donation Camp

A Blood Donation Camp was organized at the Auditorium of Jawahar Science College, Block-14, Neyveli. A team of doctors and para medical staff from the Government Headquarters Hospital, Cuddalore headed by Dr.N.Hafiza, Dy. Director/Medical Services and District Blood Transfusion Officer, carried out the collection of blood from the donors. Dr. Srinivas Suyam Prakash, Pathalogist, doctors, and para medical staff of NLC India Hospital coordinated with the Cuddalore GH Team for the success of the Blood Donation

Camp. Volunteers of  Neyveli Blood Donors Association (NBDA), Association of Voluntary Blood Donors (AVBD) and People Service Group (PSG) joined hands with the officials for conducting the camp successfully. As many as 70 employees and Trainees in NLCIL have donated their blood.

The camp was inaugurated by Shri R.Vikraman, Director/HR in the presence of Shri R.Mohan, CGM, Shri V.Ramachandran, GM CSR Cell of NLCIL, Dr.Packiyamary Jerome, General Supdt., NLC India Hospital                                Dr. V.T.Chandrasekar, Principal, Jawahar Science College, Shri K.Kathiravan, District Supervisor, Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) and senior officials of NLCIL.

In his speech Shri R.Vikraman said that, NLCIL is celebrating the 70th Birth day of our Prime Minister with three mega events of Blood donation by 70 volunteers, Covid screeing of 70 persons and Mass tree plantation. Shri.R.Vikraman has lauded the excellent leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister in taking this country to greater heights and to make it a global Super Power. On this occasion, Shri.R.Vikraman has extended the Birth Day wishes from the entire NLC India employees, their families and other population in the surroundings to the Hon’ble Prime Minister. He also said that NLCIL is maintaining its Township and surrounding areas very clean and green. VIPs visiting Neyveli are very much appreciating that despite having three open cast mines and 5 thermal power stations functioning in this town, the Neyveli environment is very clean because, this company giving much importance to maintain the eco-friendly environment. Similary, it is giving the same importance for the upliftment and  empowerment of  the Society as well.

He compared the blood donation activity to a Divine Service. He also informed that the dialysis centre with 13 dialysis machines donated to Government Headquarters  Hospital, Cuddalore  by NLCIL is now saving the lives of 60 persons per day.

Mass Tree Plantation

A Mass Tree Plantation programme was organized at Neyveli Mines and Thermal Units as part of  Birth Day Celebrations of Prime Minister. Saplings of mango, jamun, guava and amla were planted in the reclaimed area of Mines in   2.50 hectares. Shri N.N.M.Rao, Director/Planning & Projects inaugurated the event  with the participation of Shri Hemant Kumar, Executive Director/Mines, Shri A. Rajasekhara Reddy, CGM/Mine-I,senior executives, employees and workmen in planting the tree saplings. Similar plantation was done in Thermal Units also.

Swab Test

In an another event, held at NLC India Hospital,   SWAB samples were collected for screening for Covid-19 from 70 people. This testing has been organized through NLC India Hospital in coordination of NLCIL Health Services and Cuddalore District Health Services.

This exercise will be continued for the forthcoming 15 days, as part of the  Birth Day Celebrations of  Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji.
