NHPC, India’s premier hydropower company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU) to facilitate cooperation in research & education of hydropower on 07.01.2019 during India-Norway Business Summit 2019 at New Delhi.
The objective of the MOU is to facilitate cooperation in research & education of hydropower that are of mutual interest and to undertake studies and research in the areas of Dam construction & safety, Sediment handling, Variable speed operation, Pump turbines in existing power plants, Future market structures & prices, Optimal hydro design in future power system and Hydrology models.

एनएचपीसी, भारत की अग्रणी जलविद्युत कंपनी ने 07.01.2019 को नई दिल्ली में आयोजित भारत-नॉर्वे बिजनेस समिट 2019 के दौरान नार्वे विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी विश्वविद्यालय (एनटीएनयू) से जलविद्युत के क्षेत्र में अनुसंधान और शिक्षा के सहयोग हेतु समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए ।
इस एमओयू का उद्देश्य आपसी हित में जलविद्युत के क्षेत्र में अनुसंधान व शिक्षा में सहयोग और बाँध निर्माण तथा सुरक्षा, तलछट से निपटने, परिवर्तनीय गति संचालन, मौजूदा विद्युत संयंत्रों में पंप टर्बाइन, भविष्य के बाजार के ढांचे और कीमतें, भविष्य की विद्युत प्रणाली और जल विज्ञान मॉडल में इष्टतम हाइड्रो डिजाइन के क्षेत्रों में अध्ययन और अनुसंधान का कार्य करना है ।
