Nathukonha Becomes Chhattisgarh’s First Solar Village, Powered Entirely by Free Energy

Dhamtari, Nov 21 (IANS): Nathukonha village in Dhamtari district has become Chhattisgarh’s first solar-powered village under the Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, aiming to promote renewable energy and ensure electricity access for all households.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan recognized the village during a visit, where solar panels were installed in every house, providing residents with free electricity and improving their quality of life.

The initiative is intended to reduce reliance on kerosene and promote sustainable energy solutions, setting an example for other rural communities in India. Village head Akbar Mandavi expressed gratitude for this recognition and opportunity for enhanced living standards.
