New Delhi, Nov 22: In a significant move to enhance rehabilitation at Kokrajhar District Jail, a new Kitchen & Multi-Purpose Hall was inaugurated by District Commissioner Masanda M. Pertin, with support from NTPC Bongaigaon under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
This development aligns with the Assam government’s ‘Karagar se Karigar’ programme, focusing on skill development and vocational training for inmates. During the ceremony, Pertin praised NTPC’s efforts to improve inmate welfare, while Arnab Maitra emphasized the organization’s commitment to social progress.
The facility, costing Rs. 32.82 lakh, aims to provide better nutritional services and recreational opportunities, promoting dignity and rehabilitation for the inmates. This initiative reflects NTPC Bongaigaon’s dedication to institutional strengthening and uplifting the community.
