New Delhi/Tel Aviv, Feb 28: India on Saturday urged its citizens residing in Israel to exercise heightened caution following a sharp escalation in regional tensions triggered by joint airstrikes by Israel and the United States on Iranian targets.
In an official advisory, the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv asked all Indian nationals to remain vigilant and strictly comply with safety directives issued by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. The Embassy advised citizens to stay close to designated shelters, identify the nearest protected spaces near their residence or workplace, and avoid all non-essential travel within Israel until further notice.
Indian nationals have also been encouraged to closely monitor local media, official announcements, and emergency alerts for real-time updates.
The Embassy reiterated that it remains in close coordination with relevant authorities and has activated a 24×7 helpline to assist citizens in case of emergencies.
The advisory follows reports of multiple explosions in Tehran after what Israel described as “preventive” missile strikes. According to local media, missiles reportedly hit areas along University Street and the Jomhouri district, with smoke seen rising near Pasteur Street — a zone housing key government establishments. Authorities have yet to confirm casualties or the extent of damage.
