First Batch of 550 Women Pass out of REC Foundation’s Skill Development Training Program

New Delhi, 1st November 2019: REC Foundation, the CSR arm of the Navratna Central Govt. PSU REC Limited, and Bisnouli Sarvodaya Gramodyog Sewa Sansthan (BSGSS), a Delhi-based NGO organised an event marking the completion of a six month skill development course for women in Hayat Nagar, Khora Colony, Dist. Ghaziabad, on 15th October 2019. The courses have been sponsored by REC as part of their CSR, providing the infrastructure of training centres, and the cost of skilling the women. The courses included cutting and tailoring, beauty routine, computer operation and English speaking. Many trainees have already found employment in government or private organizations and have also generated enough confidence among others to get self-employed.

The valedictory function of the 1st batch of six-month skill development training initiative also welcomed the 2nd batch of the program during the function. Through this program a total of 880 women are expected to be trained in various skills. The program is aimed at providing women with consistent livelihood and promoting entrepreneurship amongst them.

Sh. Yashvardhan Srivastava, the City Magistrate, Ghaziabad, Ms. Preeti Kumari, REC Foundation, Ms. Rekha Kaushik, Child Development Project Officer, Ghaziabad and Ms Nandita Bakshi CEO, Bisnouli Sarvodaya Gramodyog Sewa Sansthan (BSGSS) spoke at the occasion and distributed certificates to the trainees who completed courses on 19th September 2019.
