New Delhi, Jan 27: EU leaders, President Antonio Costa and Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, expressing optimism for a fruitful summit and stronger bilateral relations.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of a new free trade agreement between the EU and India, which they termed the “Mother of All Deals,” aimed at enhancing economic ties and mutual prosperity.
They highlighted that the agreement would benefit a population of two billion and strengthen shared commitments to democracy and global supply chains. The leaders also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and participated in India’s Republic Day celebrations, marking a significant milestone in India-EU relations.
