Howrah, July 27 DVC organised an event at Ramkrishna Mission Shilpamandira, Belur Math, Howrah, under the banner of ‘Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya’, an initiative by Ministry of Power, GoI, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.
Swami Vedatitananda, Correspondent, RKM Shilpamandira graced the occasion as the Chief Guest with the other dignitaries present being Swami Subidyananda, Project Director, RKM Shilpamandira, Subodh Kumar Dutta, Executive Director (System) & Santosh Chattopadhyay, Senior Manager (Metering), CESC Ltd.
The welcome address was delivered by the District Nodal Officer, Howrah, Arijit Kundu, SE(E) & CPRO, DVC. The program commenced with a floral tribute to Sri Ramkrishna, Sarada Ma & Swami Vivekananda, along with lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
The Chief Guest commended the various stakeholders associated with the power sector for the significant progress made in rural electrification. Shri Chattopadhyay elaborated on the rapid technological developments in the Smart metering industry.
The teachers & students of the institute demonstrated working models of solar & wind power generation & a beneficiary testimonial was presented regarding the Rooftop Solar Power project commissioned by DVC at the institute. Awareness videos regarding various government schemes & initiatives were shown. The program was concluded with a cultural event put up by the students.
