Environmental Impact Assessment

  • Environmental Impact Assessment by M/s ERM: Although the areas are severely hit by flood, ERM team conducted ecological survey in Dhelakhat tea garden and in Motapung village yesterday.
  • TERI Study on Air Quality & Noise Level: Despite flood in the area, TERI team collected sample for monitoring of air quality and noise levelfor analysisyesterday.
  • TERI study on Bioremediation of Sludge: Fresh flood and incessant rain is hampering the site preparation activities of bioremediation process of affected areas. Bio material for bio remediation process received and application of the same will be started once water level recedes in affected areas.
  • CSIR-NEIST Seismological Study: Recording is in progress for seismological study in the vicinity of Baghjan-5 well. 

Preparation for Capping the Well

  • Debris Removal:OIL’s Technical teams worked overnight on war-footing to restore severely damaged site conditionby repairing/laying Porta Deck Mat and checked/tested/servicedallpumps/equipment/auxiliaries to make them readyforresumingdebris removal operation from today morning. Alert and ONGC & OIL’s technical teams are at site and debris removal job has already started today.
  • Pump Station#01 & #02 at River bank: Water level started receding. Pump Station #1 at Dangori River Bank is ready for delivery, while Pump Station #2 isstill submerged in water.

Relief and Rehabilitation

  • Survey job for assessment of damage for compensation in Tinsukia and Doomdooma Circle couldn’t be carried out yesterday. Total number of families surveyed till 12.07.2020 is1285. 

Law and Order/Bandhs/Blockades etc

  • Blockade at EPS Baghjan Continues: Blockade still continues at Baghjan EPS since afternoon hours of 7th July, 2020 and 12 nos. of oilwells connected to the EPS are still shut-in resulting in loss2564 MT of Crude Oil and 5 MMSCM of Natural Gas in last 6 days.
  • Blockades in Drilling and WorkOverLocations Continue: One more workover location was stopped Blockade at 3 drilling locations and 3 workover locations still continues.

Impact onOil/GasProduction due to Protests

Due to stoppage/blockades, there was production loss of 452 MT of Crude Oil and 1.57 MMSCM of Natural Gas as reported on 12-07-2020. Operations were disrupted in 11 Oil wells & 05 gas wells. Cumulative production loss since 27th May, 2020 due to bandhs and blockades: 11764 MT Crude oil, 20.47 MMSCM of natural gas.
