Assam Rifles, NEASW Host Grand Finale of Unity Utsav 2.0 in New Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 20, 2026: Assam Rifles in collaboration with Northeast Association for Social Welfare Foundation successfully concluded Unity Utsav 2.0, a two-phase national initiative themed “One Nation, One Dream,” aimed at enhancing national integration through youth engagement in sports and culture.

The initiative provided a national platform for youth from Northeast India to showcase their talent and cultural heritage, fostering stronger social and emotional connectivity with the rest of the country.

The inaugural edition in 2025 saw participation from over 1,000 youth across all eight Northeastern states and culminated in a grand cultural event at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, with support from Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Unity Utsav 2.0 – Phase I (Sports): Held from February 9–12, 2026, the sports segment featured competitions in football, volleyball, badminton, and other disciplines, promoting teamwork, leadership, and national cohesion.

Phase II (Cultural Programme): The concluding cultural event on February 19 at the Manekshaw Centre showcased traditional dances and music from all eight Northeastern states, celebrating India’s unity in diversity. The event was attended by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, who commended Assam Rifles for its continued efforts toward youth empowerment and national integration.

Awards were presented to winning teams by the Minister along with Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, Director General, Assam Rifles.
