India Hands Over Six Ambulances Equipped with Advanced Medical Facilities to Afghanistan

Kabul/New Delhi, Dec 30 (IANS) India has delivered six modern ambulances to Afghanistan, enhancing healthcare cooperation between the two nations.

These ambulances, equipped with advanced medical tools, will assist in emergency patient transport and health services, according to Taliban Health Ministry spokesman Sharafat Zaman Amarkhel.

This delivery follows high-level talks in October where India committed to donating 20 ambulances overall, alongside MRI and CT scan machines, vaccines, and cancer medications.

During a recent meeting in New Delhi, Afghanistan’s Health Minister Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali and India’s Health Minister JP Nadda discussed strategies to strengthen healthcare collaboration, including training Afghan health workers and ensuring quality medicine supply. Nadda confirmed upcoming shipments of a CT scan machine and additional medical supplies to a Kabul children’s hospital.

In the past four years, India has provided 327 tonnes of medicines and vaccines to Afghanistan and is considering additional requests for medical equipment.
