1064 KW Solar Power Panels installed in Open Terraces of Office Buildings in Neyveli

NLC India Limited with the support of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), installed Solar Power Projects at the open terrace of the 7 Office buildings in Neyveli at a cost of Rs.5.49 Crore. Of this, one project was commissioned by Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD (Additional Charge) & Director (Finance) on 31.08.2018.

As per the National Solar Mission of Government of India, it is proposed to install 1,75,000 MW through Renewable Energy Sector by the year 2025. As part of this National objective, NLC India has committed to produce 4251 MW through Solar and Wind Power. NLC India had already commissioned 491 MW through Green Energy Units, installed at Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar Districts, besides Neyveli. In addition, 909 MW Solar projects are under construction at various places in Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar and Ramanathapuram Districts.

To increase the Solar Power, NLC India had planned to install the Solar panels over the open terrace of the office buildings at Neyveli. Under its Phase-I, the implementation of solar power projects are under progress with a total production capacity of 1067 KW installed at Corporate Office, Central Technical Office, Public Relations Office, Guest House, Mines Administrative Office, Material Management Complex, Township Administration Building, at a cost of Rs.5.49 Crore.
