RailTel Bags ₹455 Crore Kavach Contract from West Central Railway

RailTel Wins ₹115.20 Crore Network Management System Order from Power Grid

New Delhi, Feb 10: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a notable CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, has secured a ₹454.95 crore contract for the implementation of the KAVACH system, an Indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system, across 1067 RKM of the Jabalpur division of West Central Railway.

This project aims to enhance railway safety and modernization through a comprehensive survey, design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of trackside systems along key routes, including Itarsi – Manikpur, Mahdeiya – Bina Malkheri–Mahadeokheri, and several others within the Jabalpur division.

The KAVACH system will be installed at stations, level crossings, and IBS locations, alongside associated civil, electrical, and track works, all to be completed within 960 days per the EPC agreement.

Developed in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, KAVACH is designed to prevent train collisions, over-speeding, and signal violations, ultimately enhancing passenger safety and operational reliability.

RailTel is concurrently working on similar projects for the East Central Railway, and the Chairman & Managing Director, Sanjai Kumar, emphasized the significance of this order as recognition of RailTel’s capabilities in delivering essential railway safety infrastructure and advancing technology-driven rail operations.
