New Delhi. 7 May,2015 As a part of its march towards Petrochemical business , IndianOil’s Mathura Refinery has commissioned Propylene Recovery Unit . Sanjiv Singh, Director ( Refineries ), IndianOil inaugurated the New Propylene Recovery Unit which is designed to process cracked LPG feed from FCCU to produce 165 TMTPA of 99.7% pure, petrochemical-grade propylene product, which is free from impurities like COS, di-oleffins and acetylenes. The unit is designed to recover 97.5% propylene from cracked LPG feed. Utpal Sen, ED (M&I), D K Rakesh, (GM-I/C)-HR, MR, S M Vaidya (GM(T)- Mathura Refinery were also present on this occasion.
IndianOil is the second largest Petrochemical Player in India. Currently, it is focusing on increasing its presence in the domestic petrochemicals sector besides the overseas markets through systematic expansion of customer base and innovative supply logistics. The Corporation is envisaging an investment of Rs 30,000 crore in the petrochemicals business in the next few years. These projects will utilize product streams from the existing refineries of IndianOil, thereby achieving better exploitation of the hydrocarbon value chain.
