New Delhi, June 19: World Blood Donor Day was being observedon 14.06.2023 across the Pipeline Sphere.World Blood Donor Day is one of the 11 official global public health campaigns marked by World Health Organization (WHO). It is celebrated every year by people around the world on June 14 on the occasion of Birthday Anniversary of Karl Landsteiner who was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the ABO Blood Group system and to raise awareness of the importance of Blood donation.
On 14.06.2023 on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day and “Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav” to create awareness about the importance of Blood Donation, at OIL Pipeline Headquarters, Guwahati, Shri Abhijit Borgohain, ED (PLS), all executives, employees, contract persons and apprentices gathered for pledge taking to observe the momentous day together.
Blood Donation camp was being arranged for the voluntary blood donors. In Pipeline Headquarters,Guwahati, free ABO and Rh typing Blood grouping camp and Blood Donation camp was arranged. The slogan for World Blood Donor Day 2023 campaign is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often”.
