New Delhi, March 18: NTPC Bongaigaon reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and community development during its Annual Press Meet, underscoring its role in supporting energy demand across Assam and the North-Eastern region.
The 750 MW (3×250 MW) power station reported generation of around 4,110 million units (MU) in FY 2025–26 to date, contributing to reliable power supply and grid stability. Operational performance remained strong, with a Declared Capacity of 93.72% and a Plant Load Factor of 65.43%, aligned with grid demand. A key milestone included Unit-1 operating continuously for 433 days, reflecting high equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
On sustainability, the plant has planted over 13 lakh trees since inception, including more than 50,000 saplings in the current fiscal year. It also achieved a best Specific Water Consumption of 2.50 L/kWh and over 170% ash utilisation, highlighting efficient resource management and waste utilisation practices.
Beyond operations, NTPC Bongaigaon expanded its CSR footprint across the North-East, impacting over 3 lakh beneficiaries directly and reaching nearly 10 lakh people in the region. Initiatives focused on healthcare, education, skill development, and community infrastructure, including support for medical facilities, mobile health units, digital literacy centres, and smart classrooms.
The company also advanced livelihood and women empowerment programmes, alongside promoting sports and youth engagement through rural infrastructure and participation in events such as the Durand Cup.
Its flagship Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) will enrol 50 participants in 2026, further strengthening efforts toward holistic development of young girls. The initiatives have received recognition from district authorities and regional stakeholders, reinforcing NTPC Bongaigaon’s position as a key contributor to regional development.
