NLC India Ltd. contributes Rs 6.79 Crore towards Tamilnadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund for “Gaja Cyclone” Restoration Works

Chennai, Nov 27 Responding to the appeal made by Chief Minister of Tamilnadu to extend  helping hand to the massive relief and restoration activities launched in the “Gaja Cyclone” devastated districts of Tamilnadu, the  employees  of NLC India Limited,  a ‘Navaratna’ CPSE of Govt.of India  have  contributed  their  one day salary  amounting to Rs. 3.79 Crore  towards The Tamilnadu  Chief Minister’s Public  Relief Fund.

On its part ,the Management of  the NLC India Limited  has  also  contributed  an amount of Rs.3 Crore, both the contributions amounting  to  Rs 6.79 Crore  cheque  was handed over to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu by Rakesh Kumar,CMD, NLCIL, in the presence of Functional Directors of NLCIL V. Thangapandian,  R .Vikraman and  N. N. M. Rao  at  Chief Minister’s Office , Chennai , on 27th November, 2018.

Acknowledging the gesture, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu  Edappadi K. Palanisamy expressed his gratitude to NLCIL for  not only raising to the occasion by liberally contributing to the relief fund  but also for dispatching relief team from NLCIL to carry out the relief operations and supply of relief materials.
