NLC INDIA LIMITED OBSERVES INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA: PRASANNA KUMAR MOTUPALLI, CMD, NLCIL, LED THE CELEBRATIONS AT NEYVELI

New Delhi, June 21: NLC India Limited joined the Nation today (21.06.2023) in observing the International Day of Yoga in a grand manner by organizing a mass demonstration of Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) Yoga practice at Bharathi Stadium, Neyveli in the morning.

Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, led the Yoga Day celebrations by participating in the CYP along with other senior officials of NLCIL and around 1000 students of Neyveli schools. Yoga was performed with flexibility exercises, simple Asanas, pranayama and simple meditation.

Addressing the gathering, Prasanna KumarMotupallisaid that this 9th International Day of Yoga was being organized following the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. Started in the year 2014 following a clarion call given by the Prime Minister of India, today, it has become a global event signifying health and wellbeing, positioning India as a global leader in healthcare. Yoga had the power to remove fluctuations in the mind and bring total calmness, thereby acting as an effective stress buster. He said that it was a matter of pride that NLCIL started teaching Yoga to its employees 30 years back at its Ayurvedic Centre. 

This year, NLCIL had taken up several programmes related to Yoga from March 13th, when the 100 day countdown to the International Day of Yoga had begun. Programmes were organized at the Learning & Development Centre for NLCIL employees, at the Sports & Culture Department for students and at the Ayurvedic Centre for Employees, Housewives and the general public. He said that around 4000 students from NLC schools had benefited from the Yoga classes held by the NLC Sports Department.

Suresh Chandra Suman, Director (Mines & Finance AC), Samir Swarup, Director (HR), M. Venkatachalam, Director (Power), L. Chandrasekar, CVO, NLCIL, Senior executives, Representatives of recognized Unions, Associations and Welfare associations of NLCIL, members of WIPS and Teachers participated in the programme and performed the Yoga with the students. Also, members and representatives of Yoga organisations in Neyveli from Isha Yoga, Art of Living, Brahmakumaris, Temple of Consciousness along with Ayurvedic Centre of NLCIL participated in the programme.

Samir Swarup, Director (HR) welcomed the gathering while R. Nagarajan, GM (Education, Sports & Culture) proposed the vote of thanks.
