National Safety Day Celebrated At NTPC Bongaigaon

New Delhi, March 04: NTPC Bongaigaon under the stewardship of Shri Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon observed 52nd National Safety Day on 4th March 2023 with energy and elan.

The safety pledge was taken by the Business Unit Head, NTPC Bongaigaon and all HODs of the station, which was administered by Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC through virtual mode during the morning hours.  Later, Das unfurled the Safety Flag at plant premises in presence of NTPC employees, CISF employees, associates, and contract workers. Following the hoisting of the Safety flag,

Karunakar Das administered a safety pledge to all employees and contract workers and delivered ‘National Safety Day’ speech. Shri Das in his speech underlined the importance of safety at the workplace and laid importance of adhering to Safety Norms in all operations of the plant and personal life. Shri Das also stressed on the strict adherence to the implementation of safety framework by all Departments and contract workers.

S K Jha, GM (FM) also spoke on various areas of safety and the consciousness required by all workers of NTPC Bongaigaon. S.K.Jha, GM (FM), Induri S. Reddy, GM (Maintenance), Arunashis Das, GM (Projects), M.S.Kandari, Asst. Commandant, CISF-Fire and other senior officials of the station were present on the occasion.

A knowledge sharing forum on safety was also conducted as a part of the event wherein various representatives from contractual workers, associates and other site engagement workers also spoke on the importance of the day and how they maintain safe practices in the plant and various areas. They also underlined the best practices in their area pertaining to safety.

Various prizes were presented to Employees, Departments and contractual workers under the White Rhino Safety Award 2023, Safety Zone Award 2023 and safety awareness competitions organized on an annual basis at NTPC Bongaigaon for the various safety initiatives and proactive steps towards promotion of safety measures at the station.

Various CISF employees who have ensured safety of the plant were also honored on the occasion. An exhibition by the CISF Fire Safety Wing on various fire fighting and rescue equipment was displayed on the occasion. Employees, CISF officials and office bearers of Unions and Associations participated during the day in large numbers. The National Safety Day celebrations were coordinated by the Safety Department of the statio
