MNRE Secretary Lays Out Vision for IREDA’s Growth in 2026

On January 2, 2026, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) hosted a New Year gathering at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, to foster unity and a renewed commitment among employees.

The event featured notable attendees including Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), J.V.N. Subramanyam, Joint Secretary, MNRE, and Pradip Kumar Das, CMD of IREDA, who provided remarks on the agency’s progress and future goals.

Santosh Kumar Sarangi emphasized the importance of team building and the development of young professionals as future leaders, while calling for enhanced financial support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through initiatives like the PM Surya Ghar scheme. He assured MNRE’s continued support for IREDA’s growth.

In his address, Pradip Kumar Das celebrated the agency’s workforce growth from 168 employees in 2025 to 227 in 2026, with women representing approximately 23% of the total staff, surpassing the CPSEs average of 9.5%. This growth is attributed to effective corporate governance and financial discipline, which will be sustained for further development.

Das highlighted IREDA’s robust financial performance, with substantial cumulative loan sanctions of ₹2,78,016 crore and disbursements of ₹1,80,988 crore, alongside a loan book totalling ₹87,975 crore as of December 31, 2025.

He acknowledged key achievements, including the highest annual Profit After Tax of ₹1,699 crore in FY 2024–25 and an upgrade in international credit rating by S&P Global Ratings.

In closing, the Director of Finance expressed gratitude to the employees for their teamwork and reiterated the importance of maintaining high standards of governance and efficiency.
