Japan and India took another significant step towards strengthening their long-standing strategic relationship as Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to participate in the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The visit is expected to further reinforce the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, with discussions covering economic security, defence cooperation, investment, innovation, technology, skilled workforce mobility and regional stability in the Indo-Pacific.
Welcoming the Japanese leader, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi was received by Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, describing the visit as an important milestone in advancing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Earlier in the day, Japan’s Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, highlighted that the Prime Minister’s visit would provide a major opportunity to strengthen people-to-people exchanges, which remain one of the strongest pillars of the India-Japan relationship.
