IndianOil Hosts Key Technical Session with API on Global Energy Practices

New Delhi, May 13: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), through its R&D Centre, organised a high-level technical session in partnership with the American Petroleum Institute (API), bringing together senior leaders and domain experts across its key business verticals.

The session was inaugurated by Arvind Kumar, Director (Refineries), and saw participation from senior officials across IndianOil’s Refineries, Pipelines, Marketing, R&D, Business Development and Cryogenics divisions, alongside API representatives.

The workshop underscored IndianOil’s push towards technology-driven collaboration and alignment with globally benchmarked standards to enhance safety, efficiency and operational resilience. Discussions centred on process safety, asset integrity, operational reliability, advanced inspection systems, workforce competency and supply chain robustness across the hydrocarbon value chain.

The interaction also covered globally aligned certification frameworks and emerging industry expectations in areas such as digital integrity management and reliability engineering.

Highlighting the importance of global standards, Arvind Kumar said API frameworks remain foundational to IndianOil’s engineering, maintenance and inspection protocols, adding that deeper international collaboration is essential in an increasingly interconnected energy ecosystem.

API, a globally recognised standards-setting body for the oil and gas sector, plays a key role in developing best practices and certification systems aimed at strengthening safety, reliability and efficiency.

Its expanding engagement in India is expected to open new avenues for domestic companies to align with international technical standards and enhance competitiveness in the global energy landscape.
