Indian Oil Corporation Limited assures stable LPG supply, steps up action against malpractices

LPG cylinders being delivered as India maintains uninterrupted fuel supply despite Middle East crisis

New Delhi, April 3, 2026: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil) has assured that LPG supplies across India remain stable and adequate, despite ongoing geopolitical disruptions impacting global energy markets.

The company said it continues to prioritise domestic LPG supply, maintaining uninterrupted deliveries of around 28 lakh cylinders daily, in line with pre-crisis levels.

To enhance efficiency and transparency, nearly 87% of LPG bookings are now digital, with customers encouraged to use SMS and IVRS platforms. Deliveries are being secured through Delivery Authentication Code (DAC OTP) systems to ensure proper receipt.

Amid reports of irregularities, IndianOil has intensified enforcement measures:

  • Over 7,500 inspections conducted across LPG distributorships
  • Action taken against 141 distributors, including suspension of 5 dealers

In coordination with other oil marketing companies and state authorities, a broader crackdown has been carried out:

  • 68,000 raids conducted nationwide
  • 855 FIRs registered
  • Over 48,000 cylinders seized

The PSU also said it is actively addressing consumer concerns via social media and customer support channels.

Reassuring customers, IndianOil emphasised that there is no shortage of LPG, urging people to avoid panic booking or hoarding and rely only on official information.

The company reiterated its commitment to seamless supply, transparency, and strict action against malpractices, ensuring reliable energy access across the country.
