New Delhi, Feb 06: The Ministry of Power has announced the release of Version 0.3 of the India Energy Stack (IES) Architecture and Strategy documents, aimed at establishing a digital public infrastructure for the power sector in India.
The IES intends to create a unified digital framework to facilitate secure data exchange and interaction among various stakeholders, including utilities, system operators, market participants, innovators, and consumers. This initiative emphasizes improved coordination, transparency, and efficiency within the energy ecosystem.
Version 0.3 reflects ongoing efforts to design and refine the IES framework through phased development and stakeholder consultation. The initiative is characterized by collaboration among ecosystems, pilot implementations, and plans for national rollout, all aimed at creating a more reliable and flexible power system.
Notably, the IES is expected to empower consumers and prosumers by enhancing their control and participation in the energy ecosystem. Through consent-based data sharing and interoperable services, users can access better energy offerings, compare services, and participate in initiatives such as demand response and electric vehicle (EV) charging. Prosumers can monetize excess energy, verify transactions, and engage in energy markets more effectively. The framework aims to enable reliable measurement and settlement, allowing households, businesses, and community groups to confidently make economic energy decisions.
Key attendees in the review meeting for Version 0.3 included Taskforce Chairman Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma, along with notable figures from power and energy sectors. The REC Limited serves as the Nodal Agency for this initiative, in partnership with the Ministry of Power and supported by FSR Global as the Knowledge Partner. The completion of the IES project is scheduled for July 2026.

विद्युत मंत्रालय ने आज इंडिया एनर्जी स्टैक (IES) आर्किटेक्चर और स्ट्रेटेजी डॉक्यूमेंट्स के वर्जन 0.3 को जारी करने की घोषणा की, जो भारत के पावर सेक्टर के लिए डिजिटल पब्लिक इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के डेवलपमेंट में एक और कदम है।
इंडिया एनर्जी स्टैक का मकसद एक कॉमन डिजिटल फ्रेमवर्क बनाना है जो अलग-अलग स्टेकहोल्डर्स – जैसे यूटिलिटीज़, सिस्टम ऑपरेटर्स, मार्केट पार्टिसिपेंट्स, इनोवेटर्स और कंज्यूमर्स – को शेयर्ड स्टैंडर्ड और प्रोटोकॉल का इस्तेमाल करके सुरक्षित रूप से डेटा एक्सचेंज करने और इंटरैक्ट करने में मदद करे। इस तरीके का मकसद एनर्जी इकोसिस्टम में कोऑर्डिनेशन, ट्रांसपेरेंसी और एफिशिएंसी को बेहतर बनाना है।
अपडेटेड वर्जन 0.3 डॉक्यूमेंट्स में, अलग-अलग डेवलपमेंट और कंसल्टेशन के ज़रिए फ्रेमवर्क को डिज़ाइन, टेस्ट और बेहतर बनाने के लिए चल रहे काम को दिखाया गया है। IES पहल को इकोसिस्टम कोलेबोरेशन, पायलट इम्प्लीमेंटेशन और आखिर में नेशनल रोलआउट के ज़रिए आगे बढ़ाया जा रहा है ताकि ज़्यादा भरोसेमंद, फ्लेक्सिबल और फ्यूचर-रेडी पावर सिस्टम को सपोर्ट किया जा सके।
खास बात यह है कि इंडिया एनर्जी स्टैक से कंज्यूमर्स और प्रोज्यूमर्स को एनर्जी इकोसिस्टम में ज़्यादा कंट्रोल और हिस्सेदारी देकर फ़ायदा होने की उम्मीद है। सहमति पर आधारित डेटा शेयरिंग और इंटरऑपरेबल डिजिटल सर्विसेज़ के ज़रिए, कंज्यूमर्स बेहतर एनर्जी सर्विसेज़ एक्सेस कर सकते हैं, ऑफ़र की तुलना कर सकते हैं, और डिमांड रिस्पॉन्स या EV चार्जिंग जैसे प्रोग्राम में हिस्सा ले सकते हैं। प्रोज्यूमर्स — जो बिजली बनाते और इस्तेमाल करते हैं — ज़्यादा आसानी से सरप्लस एनर्जी को मोनेटाइज़ कर सकते हैं, ट्रांज़ैक्शन वेरिफ़ाई कर सकते हैं, और एनर्जी मार्केट में शामिल हो सकते हैं। बड़े पैमाने पर भरोसेमंद मेज़रमेंट, वेरिफ़िकेशन और सेटलमेंट को मुमकिन बनाकर, यह फ्रेमवर्क घरों, बिज़नेस और कम्युनिटी ग्रुप्स को भरोसे के साथ हिस्सा लेने और अपने एनर्जी ऑप्शन से आर्थिक रूप से फ़ायदा उठाने में मदद कर सकता है।
