New Delhi, Dec 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received nine global honours in 2025, enhancing India’s international standing and reflecting his impactful statesmanship. By the end of 2025, the total number of international accolades conferred upon him rose from 20 to 29.
Notably, he was awarded the ‘Order of Oman (First Class)’ by Oman’s Sultan for his contributions to India-Oman relations, making him the recipient of numerous prestigious awards throughout the year.
Among these, Mauritius honored him with ‘The Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean’ during his attendance at the National Day celebrations, emphasizing the historical and cultural ties between the two nations. Sri Lanka followed suit, recognizing Modi with the ‘Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushana’, marking the first time an Indian leader received this honour, further solidifying India-Sri Lanka relations.
Additionally, Modi was presented the ‘Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III’ in Cyprus, and later the ‘Officer of the Order of the Star of Ghana’ for his support of the Global South.
In Trinidad and Tobago, he received ‘The Order of the Republic’, with accolades acknowledging his leadership and humanitarian efforts. Brazil’s ‘Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross’ and Namibia’s ‘Order of the Most Ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis’ also highlighted his leadership and roles in fostering bilateral relations.
The year culminated on December 18, when he was awarded the ‘Order of Oman’, recognizing his exceptional contributions to bilateral ties. This collection of accolades emphasizes not just PM Modi’s individual achievements but also signifies India’s growing global influence and relationships with diverse nations.
