New Delhi, Feb 1 (IANS): GST collections in January reached Rs 1,93,384 crore, marking a 6.2% year-on-year increase. Gross collections for the year-to-date total Rs 18,43,423 crore, an 8.3% growth.
Net GST revenue was Rs 1,70,719 crore, up 7.6% from last January, with year-to-date net revenue at Rs 15,95,752 crore (6.8% growth). Domestic GST collections rose 4.8% to Rs 1,41,132 crore, while import GST grossed Rs 52,253 crore, marking a 10.1% increase.
The compensation cess decreased to Rs 5,768 crore, and total refunds were Rs 22,665 crore, down 3.1% year-on-year. The Finance Ministry implemented a new tax regime for tobacco products effective February 1.
